Go to the Home Menu
Click Marketing
Click SEO
In the Search Appearance section, click the Home tab
You’ll see the SEO Site Description field
Fill in the field and edit it, as needed
Once you’re satisfied with the writing, click Save
Don’t expect your SEO site description to show up on searches right away. Give it some time.
Google may or may not post your wording verbatim. Still, by writing a meta description, you’re influencing how your Squarespace site shows up on searches, and that’s something you definitely want to have a measure of control over!

In Squarespace, you’re limited to 400 characters for your SEO site description. In our opinion, it’s fine to make use of the full space that’s allotted to you. Just make sure to cover the most interesting and relevant parts of your description in the first 150 to 160 characters.
