How to Setup Google Workspace Email in Squarespace

You’ve likely used Gmail as an email address at some point. Even if you haven’t, you likely know someone who has a gmail.com address.  What many people don’t realize is that you can use Google Workspace (and Gmail) to host your own custom domain email address.  In this article, we’ll talk about Google Workspace and how you can use Squarespace’s Google Workspace integration to improve your website workflow.

Squarespace’s Google Workspace integration makes it easy for users to get access to a custom email address and other Google features.
Say goodbye to generic email addresses for your business and website. Instead, get a custom, professional email address that matches your Squarespace domain. You’ll also gain access to Google productivity apps such as Business email, Google Drive and Google Calendar.

Am I Eligible For Google Workspace?

Most Squarespace users are eligible for the Google Workspace integration.

However, there are a few general eligibility requirements:

    • You have a trial or paid site on Squarespace (or parking page)

    • You live in a supported country

    • Your site has at least one custom domain

    • Your domain can’t have previously been connected to Google Workspace (or any previous versions, including G Suite or Google Apps)

    • You can only have one Google Workspace connected to your Squarespace account.

    What is The Pricing?

Google Workspace starts at $6 (USD) for the Business Starter plan. This includes one custom email address, 30 GB of storage, and access to Google’s suite of collaborative tools.

Each additional email address or account will cost $6. You can also pay for your plan annually or monthly.

By using the Squarespace integration, you can manage your Google Workspace subscription and your website in one place.

Can I Integrate an Existing Email Account?

The Squarespace Google Workspace integration is designed for new accounts. However, you can still integrate an existing email account from Google or another email service provider.

If you already have a Google Workspace or a custom domain email from another provider, you can still use it directly on your site. Include it as form storage, in a link, or through your contact page.

If you have an email from another provider, you can also migrate to Google Workspace using the Squarespace integration. You'll just need to coordinate this with your current email domain host.

What Can I do With Google Workspace and Squarespace Together?

The Google Workspace integration makes it possible for you to manage your profile directly through Squarespace. This includes managing Google Workspace invoices, billing, and other tasks. You’ll also gain access to a custom domain email address to use across your Squarespace website.

You can also use the custom email address to connect with your customers. Including your email address on your site contact details will make your site look more professional.

It will also help you when it comes to sending individual emails or bulk emails. You can even use your Google Workspace email address to send email campaigns, which will help improve deliverability.

Connecting Your Google Workspace Email to Your Site

To get started, you’ll need to sign up for Google Workspace through Squarespace. Once you’re set-up, you’ll be able to connect your new custom email address to your site. By linking your contact details and any contact forms with Google Workspace email, you’ll ensure all communication goes through your new custom domain email address.

It’s best not to use your Google Workspace email address for your Squarespace account. If your domain expires or you forget your password, you can get locked out of both your email and website.

    How Do I Sign Up?

Once you’re logged into your Squarespace account, head to your Home Menu. Under Settings, click on “Google Workspace” and Squarespace will walk you through the process step-by-step.
